Welcome to Active Paws Edmonton
Why Active Paws
Active Paws Edmonton provides structured, small-group pack walks designed to promote calm energy, healthy exercise, and safe social interaction.
We believe dogs thrive in consistent routines and balanced pack environments. Every dog is introduced gradually and thoughtfully to ensure compatibility and stability within the group.
Our walks are intentionally organized - not chaotic dog park outings - but controlled outdoor adventures built on structure, supervision, and positive reinforcement.
What’s Included In Every Walk
✔ Door-to-door pickup and drop off
✔ Supervised outdoor group hikes
✔ Safe social interaction with compatible dogs
✔ Daily photo updates so you can follow the adventure
✔ GPS-tracked outings for safety and accountability
Every walk is designed to provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation - helping your dog return home fulfilled and balanced.
Designed For Dogs Who Thrive In a Pack Not every dog is suited for a group hike - and that’s okay.
Each dog completes a structured assessment before joining a pack to ensure they are comfortable, socially appropriate, and able to walk calmly in a group environment.
Our priority is safety, stability, and positive experiences for every dog in our care.
Now Accepting Founding Clients We are currently enrolling a limited number of founding clients at a preferred rate before our official April 2025 start.
Spots are limited to maintain small, controlled group sizes.
Your dog’s next adventure starts here.
A Dream That Never Really Left
For as long as I can remember, dogs have held a very special place in my heart.
For more than 20 years, I carried around the idea of someday building a life where working with dogs wasn’t just something I dreamed about — it was what I actually got to do.
Life, as it often does, took me in other directions.
But the dream never really went away.
And after 50 years on this earth, I finally asked myself a very simple question:
If not now, when?
That question became Active Paws.
I wanted to build something that brought together everything I love about dogs with everything I’ve learned about their behaviour, communication and individual personalities.
I invested in formal education in Dog Behaviour & Training Methodology (DBTMc), and I continue building my knowledge because I believe the dogs entrusted to me deserve that commitment.
But Active Paws is about more than qualifications and structure.
It’s about caring for someone’s dog knowing that, to them, this isn’t just a dog.
This is family.
And that's exactly how I want every dog in my care to feel.
I sometimes think of myself as the Best Dog Aunt I can possibly be — the one who shows up excited to see them, knows their quirks, celebrates their personalities, keeps them safe, and takes them out for the kind of adventures that make their day.
There will always be structure in my packs. There will always be boundaries, training, safety and expectations.
But there will also be warmth.
There will be patience.
There will be muddy paws, happy faces, favourite trails, familiar routines and plenty of moments when a dog gets to simply enjoy being a dog.
Active Paws is the dream I waited many years to finally pursue.
Now I get to spend this chapter of my life giving dogs something I believe they deserve:
Exercise. Enrichment. Adventure. And someone who genuinely loves having them along for the journey.
I can’t wait to welcome yours to the pack.
